Benefactors
|
Members of our Benefactors Board donate $5,000 or more annually, providing us with core operating and program funding essential to our survival. Many of our benefactors donate over many years. For information contact Carol Meagher, Executive Director.
Institute of Museum and Library Services The Institute of Museum and Library Services has granted the KidZone Museum funds for three years to broaden and diversify our audience. This funding will help fund bi-lingual classes and cultural events and compliment funding from Placer County for transportation of families from rural areas in our region. We support organizations worldwide that integrate work with children and the environment. When we first visited the KidZone, we thought, "what a brilliant and affordable idea for the cold harsh Truckee winter!" The play structure and the rest of the KidZone are like a mini "Discovery Museum," giving kids many options to play and interact. We are especially interested in KidZone's Family Camp at Sagehen Meadows — teaching the next generation how to cherish the Earth is our goal as well. Dragonfly Cuisine supports many organizations and causes in our community. The KidZone Museum and the Truckee Donner Land Trust are two of the primary organizations we support financially. We live here so that we can enjoy the beautiful open spaces and places that enrich our lives and the lives of our children. We have supported the KidZone Museum for the past five years and have spent many hours in the Museum on winter days with friends and family enjoying what the Museum has to offer. The Lahontan Community Foundation
The Lahontan Community Foundation is dedicated to supporting our local community. The Foundation, supported by residents of the Lahontan community, has been a benefactor of the KidZone Museum for three years. This support allows the Museum to host local social service groups and to offer community programs such as Local's Dollar Day. The first five years of brain development are critical for young children. First 5 Nevada County, along with many community members, supported the building of the KidZone Museum. With its indoor play structure, the KidZone is an ideal place for young children to play in the winter with others and develop their gross motor skills. We support Club Amiguitos, which is a program that encourages friendships and learning of children from different countries. We hope that by establishing friendships at an early age, we will have healthy children and a healthy multicultural community. — Bonnie Taylor, Executive Director The First 5 Commission wants to be influential in creating environments where our youngest children can develop to their full potential. In addition, we know how important it is for children (birth to age 5) to have a healthy family. We search for opportunities to invest in programs that will achieve this goal of optimal brain development and strong families. This is why we support the KidZone Museum. Our joint goals for young children are a direct match. The Sierra Sun newspaper supports many non-profits in the North Lake Tahoe and Truckee communities. We know the KidZone Museum is a community treasure that everyone should know about! That is why we support the KidZone Museum and get the KidZone message and events out to the public. By doing this, we help ensure that everyone can see what an enriching and fun experience the KidZone is for children. Tahoe Mountain Resorts Foundation The Tahoe Mountain Resorts Foundation has been a benefactor of the KidZone Museum for three years because we take great pride in supporting non-profit organizations that benefit children and families in our community. In our efforts to support recreational activities for families, we want to ensure that organizations like the KidZone prosper and expand. The best way to solve our society's "science education problem" is to awaken our children's natural curiosity about the world. I believe the KidZone Museum has been a great help to parents looking for ways in which to encourage their children's interest in the way things work. Believing our future lies in the hands of these children, Teichert Foundation has been pleased to sponsor KidZone programs for the past four years to help make that future a better one for themselves - and for the rest of us! Truckee Tahoe Community Foundation The KidZone Museum offers a place for young children to learn and play. Truckee Tahoe Community Foundation supports the operations of the KidZone because of its work in early child development. Young children who come to the Museum to play also develop skills which help them to become more successful in school and in life. For over 40 years, Western Nevada Supply has strived to make a difference in the lives of people in the communities we serve. Our team members are pleased to support the KidZone Museum, where their children play and learn. It is our pleasure to share in the opportunity to help an organization that does so much for the region's families. |
